CENTRE FOR PRACTICE BASED LEARNING AND INTERVENTION
what we do
We work at the intersection of research, practice, and community engagement to address complex social, economic, and cultural challenges with solutions that are practical, inclusive, and evidence-driven.
Each year, we create spaces where ideas meet action, shaping conversations and partnerships that move communities forward.
ATTEND THE 2026 GLOBAL EVIDENCE & IMPACT CONFERENCE
Event Speakers
The conference was attended by a distinguished lineup of dignitaries, including global education ministers, leading researchers, and high-level policymakers. These expert speakers shared critical insights on the real-world impact of play-based learning, bridging the gap between evidence and practice. Their contributions provided a powerful vision for the future of education, highlighting the transformative power of playful pedagogy on a global stage.
Centering the Voices That Shape Our Solutions
Who We Serve
Our work is rooted in supporting those most affected by systemic gaps. We partner with families and communities whose lived experiences are the foundation of effective, evidence-informed change.
Families Navigating Systemic Barriers
We serve Black, Indigenous, and racialized families who are disproportionately impacted by institutional surveillance. By addressing the 60% overrepresentation of Black children in child welfare systems, we work to shift the focus from punitive measures to community-led care and relational accountability.
Students in Racialized and "Spatialized" Settings
We support children and youth in urban, suburban, and rural environments where geographical location often dictates access to quality education. Our focus is on students facing "spatial racism"—ensuring that a child’s neighborhood does not determine their developmental trajectory or their sense of belonging in the classroom.
Indigenous Knowledge Keepers and Youth
We partner with Indigenous Elders and communities to integrate traditional wisdom into formal systems. By centering the histories and healing practices of the first people of the land, we serve those working to "re-member" cultural identities broken by colonization and systemic failure.
Community Advocates and Practitioners
We serve the frontline workers—educators, social workers, and artists—who are looking for practical, anti-racist frameworks. We provide the evidence needed to move from "symbolic inclusion" to "co-creation," helping them embed cultural safety into their daily practice.
